Zycel 200 mg (Celecoxib), Celecoxib Generic tablet is used to treat the pain and swelling of joints associated with diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Zycel 200 is a pain killer belongs to a category of drugs called as COX-2 inhibitors. It inhibits the formation of chemicals called prostaglandins, which is responsible for causing pain and inflammation, thereby reducing the pain and swelling symptoms.

Zycel 200 (Celecoxib 200 mg) is a nonst***idal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Celecoxib works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Celecoxib 200 mg is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, andmenstrual pain. Zycel is used to treat juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children who are at least 2 years old. Zycel is also used in the treatment of hereditary polyps in the colon.

Celecoxib 200 mg can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Celecoxib 200 mg may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using Zycel, especially in older adults. You should not take this medicine if you already have bleeding in your stomach or intestines.

How to take Celecoxib

Zycel 200 can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Zycel may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using Zycel, especially in older adults. You should not use Zycel if you are allergic to celecoxib 200 mg, or if you have: bleeding in your stomach or intestines; an allergy to sulfa drugs; or a history of asthma attack or severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or an NSAID. To make sure Zycel is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have: heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or if you smoke; a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot; a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding; asthma; liver or kidney disease; or fluid retention.

Taking Zycel (Celecoxib 200 mg) during the last 3 months of pregnancy may harm the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using Zycel. Celecoxib 200 mg can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Zycel is not approved for use by anyone younger than 2 years old.

How should I take Zycel?

Take Zycel (Celecoxib 200 mg) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Use the lowest dose that is effective in treating your condition. You may take Zycel with or without food. Take with food if Celecoxib 200 mg upsets your stomach. To make swallowing easier, you may open the Zycel capsule and sprinkle the medicine into a spoonful of applesauce. Swallow right away without chewing. Discard the empty capsule. If you do not take the mixture right away, keep it in the refrigerator and take it within 6 hours. If you use this medicine long-term, you may need frequent medical tests. Missdose

Taking any of these medicines with an NSAID may cause you to bruise or bleed easily. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially: fluconazole; lithium; a blood thinner (warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven); heart or blood pressure medication, including a diuretic or ?water pill?; or st***id medicine (such as prednisone).
