Sirdalud 2 mg (Tizanidine)

Sirdalud 2 mg tablet is used to treat rigidity of muscles (spasticity) associated with various brain and nerve disorders (like cerebral palsy, meningitis, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, cerebrovascular accidents), diseases of the spinal cord, other injuries which affect the brain and other parts of nervous system in adults.

How it works

Sirdalud 2 mg tablet belongs to group of medicines called centrally acting muscle relaxants. It acts by blocking the nerve impulses which excites the muscles reducing their tone. As a result, the muscle relaxes and there is reduction of pain and spasms.

• Alcohol should be avoided while taking tizanidine tablets as it may increase sleepiness.
• Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you experience blurred vision, sleepiness, dizziness or low blood pressure while being treated with tizanidine.
• Do not stop the treatment suddenly as it may increase blood pressure or heart rate.
• Do not start or continue the tizanidine and consult your doctor If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or taking contraceptive pills.
