Tonact EZ (Atorvastatin Ezetimibe)
Uses of Atorvastatin Ezetimibe
Atorvastatin is used to treat patients with elevated cholesterol, triglyceride or lipoprotein levels in blood, and to reduce the risk of heart diseases, even when blood cholesterol is normal. Fenofibrate is used to reduce the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. It is used along with exercise and diet in the treatment of very high levels of cholesterol in the blood (hyper-triglyceridemia).
How Atorvastatin Ezetimibe works?
Atorvastatin blocks the action of the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) that is required for the production of cholesterol in the body. It thus lowers the level of blood lipids such as cholesterol and triglycerides. Fenofibrate belongs to a class of drugs called as fibrates or fibric acid derivatives. It works by increasing the action of enzyme lipoprotein lipase which decreases the level of fats (triglycerides) in the blood.
