Syncapone 150 is used to treat symptoms such as stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control associated with Parkinson disease and parkinsonism-like symptoms caused by taking certain other drugs such as chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, perphenazine.

Syncapone 150 is used in combination with levodopa to treat symptoms associated with Parkinson disease and parkinsonism-like symptoms caused by other conditions. Entacapone is used in the treatment of Parkinson?s disease in combination with levodopa and carbidopa.

How Dose Syncapone 150 works

Levodopa is a pro-drug and crosses blood-brain barrier where it is converted into a chemical (dopamine) in the body which is required by the brain for proper functioning and relieves symptoms associated with Parkinson?s disease. Carbidopa works by preventing the breakdown of levodopa in the bloodstream. This allows more levodopa to enter the brain, where it can decrease Parkinson?s symptoms. Entacapone belongs to the class of drugs known as COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase) inhibitors.
