INTRODUCTION

nXIDORIN contains Midodrine which belongs to the group of medicines called alpha-1 adrenergic agonist. It is used to treat low blood pressure in adults when other treatments have not worked. Symptoms of low blood pressure includes dizziness or lightheadedness, fainting, blurred vision, nausea, fatigue or lack of concentration.
n
nMidodrine is a prodrug of deglymidodrine. It increases your blood pressure by enhancing smooth muscle tone leading to vasoconstriction of blood vessels. Prior to the treatment, your doctor would check your kidney function and blood pressure to access your condition. During the treatment, regular monitoring of your blood pressure while you are lying down or standing up will be required.
n
nThe most common side effects of taking this medicine are high blood pressure, chest pain, increased heartbeat, shortness of breath, headache and blurred vision. Contact your doctor immediately, if you experience any of these symptoms. It is always important that you do not take this medicine late in the evening. Try to take your last daily dose at least 4 hours before bedtime. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any other heart disease or kidney disease. This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in children less than 18 years of age.
