WHAT ANTI THYROX 20MG IS USED FOR?

ANTI THYROX 20MG is used,
nTo treat hyperthyroidism

WARNING & PRECAUTION:

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
nAre allergic to Carbimazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
nHave a serious blood disorder
nHave a severe liver disorder
nHave swelling in your neck called an ?intrathoracic goiter’
n
PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING
n
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
nANTI THYROX 20MG may need to be continued during pregnancy but very rarely it can cause harm to a developing foetus
nYou should not breast feed if you are taking ANTI THYROX 20MG. Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine

DRIVING & USING MACHINES

The effects of ANTI THYROX 20MG on the ability to drive and operate machinery have not been established
n
n
INTERACTIONS:
n
Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken other medicines including medicines obtained without a prescription, or the following:
nTheophylline used to treat asthma or breathing problems
nWarfarin, medicines called anticoagulants, which are used to thin the blood
nOther thyroid medicines like thiamazole and propylthiouracil
n
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
n
Always take this medicine exactly as told by your doctor
nSwallow this medicine as a whole with a glass of water
nThe dose may vary according to the age and disease condition of the patient
n
If you take more ANTI THYROX 20MG
nIf you or someone else swallows several of these tablets all together, contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency department immediately
n
nIf you forget to take ANTI THYROX 20MG
n
nIf you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose, just carry on as before
n
nIf you stop taking ANTI THYROX 20MG
n
nDo not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment
n
SIDE EFFECTS OF ANTI THYROX 20MG:
n
SERIOUS
n• Angioedema, a serious allergic reaction with symptoms that may include swollen tongue, lips, face or throat
n• Lung problems, with symptoms that include shortness of breath or cough
n• Kidney problems, with symptoms that include a reduction in the amount of urine passed, fluid retention and blood in the urine
n• Sore throat and mouth ulcers
n• High temperature or fever
n• Significant tiredness
n• Increased bruising or bleeding tendency you are feeling generally unwell or think that you may have an infection
n• Deadly skin disease
n• Muscle aches or pains
n• Notice yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes
n• Nerve, joint pain and headache
n• Swollen lymph nodes or swelling of the glands in your mouth
n• Feeling sick
n• Skin rashes, including urticaria (nettle rash) itching
n• Stomach upset
n• Hair loss
n• Loss of taste
n
