ARCOLANE SCALP contains Ketoconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called antifungals. It is used to treat fungal infections of the scalp and body such as dandruff, dry or greasy scaling of the scalp and other parts of the body called seborrhoeic dermatitis. It works by killing the fungus and stopping it from coming back. This medicine binds to the fungal p450 enzymes and stops the cells making ergosterol of the cell wall which is necessary for them to grow.
nApply the medicine as directed by physician. It is for external use only. It is recommended for the use in children and adolescents. Do not use ARCOLANE SCALP, if you have eye infections. It is considered safe to use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the other topical medicines. The most side effects include burning sensation, irritation and reddening of the skin.
