WHAT MONOTRATE 10MG IS USED FOR?
n
It is used to prevent angina pectoris
nAngina usually feels like a tight pain in the chest, neck or arm area. The pain comes from the heart muscle and is a sign that part of it is not getting enough oxygen for work it is doing

WARNING & PRECAUTION:

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
nAre allergic to Isosorbide mononitrate, other nitrates or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
nSuffer from severe anemia (reduction in red blood cells which can make the skin pale and cause weakness or breathlessness)
nHave had a heart attack (myocardial infarction)
nHave had a brain hemorrhage (bleeding)
nHave had a head injury (trauma)
nHave severely low blood volume (hypovolemia)
nHave severely low blood pressure
nAre suffering from ?shock? or vascular collapse
nHave an eye disease called glaucoma
nHave been diagnosed with any of the following heart conditions: hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), con-strictive pericarditis, cardiac tamponade
nHave Valve stenosis and diseases associated with raised intra-cranial (head) pressure
nHave an underactive thyroid gland
nAre malnourished (severely underfed)
nHave liver or kidney disease
nSuffer from hypothermia (a very low body temperature)
nHave slower than normal bowel movement
nDrink lots of alcohol

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

MONOTRATE 10MG is not suitable for children

DRIVING & USING MACHINES
n
MONOTRATE 10MG may give you a headache, blurred vision or make you feel dizzy or tired. If this happens to you, do not drive or operate machinery
n

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you are taking,
nSildenafil used for impotence
nRiociguat, used in treating pulmonary hypertension
nMedicines to lower your blood pressure
nMonoamine oxidase inhibitors (used to treat depression)
nTricyclic antidepressants (used to treat depression) and neuroleptics (used to treat anxiety)
nErgotamine used for migraine
nSapropterin used for phenylketonuria (PKU)

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
nSwallow the medicine whole with a drink of water
n
If you take more MONOTRATE 10MG
nIf you take more, immediately contact the nearest hospital casualty department or your doctor
nIf you forget to take MONOTRATE 10MG
n
nDo not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take your next dose at the usual time
n
nIf you stop taking MONOTRATE 10MG
n
nDo not stop taking MONOTRATE 10MG without first talking to your doctor. You should keep taking your medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. If you stop taking the medicine your condition may get worse
n

nDo not use this medicine after the expiry date
nStore at room temperature (15-25°C)
