nHave high blood pressure or heart problems
nHave hypovolaemia (decreased volume of blood)
nHave liver or kidney problems
nHave difficulty in breathing
nHave epilepsy
nHave diabetes
nHave thyroid problems
nHave or ever had a stroke
nHave an infection or inflammation at the site where the injection is to be given
nHave or family history of porphyria

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor, if you are taking,

nLocal anaesthetics
nMedicines that contain adrenaline
nHalothane (general anaesthetic)
nAmiodarone (used to treat an uneven heartbeat)
nPropranolol (used to treat blood pressure)
nDomperidone (used to treat motion sickness)
nMedicines used to treat mental problems
nMedicines that induce labour
nCimetidine (used to treat stomach ulcer)

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

This medicine will be given by a doctor or nurse
nIt will be usually be given near the part of the body to be operated on

If you given more LOX ADRENALINE

nIf you think you have given too much of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately
nSymptoms of overdose: dizziness or lightheaded, numbness of the lips, tongue and around the mouth, vision, hearing problems, problems with speech, irrational behaviour, twitching of your muscles, fits (seizures), effects on your heart and blood vessels, loss of consciousness

SIDE EFFECTS OF LOX 2% ADRENALINE:

SERIOUS

n

• Severe allergic reactions: sudden onset of swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat which may make it difficult to swallow, severe or sudden swelling of your hands, feet and ankles, difficulty breathing
n• Gradual onset of numbness, prickling or tingling and/or muscle weakness in your feet or hands, which can spread upward into your legs and arms
n• Stinging or burning pain in the lower back or legs and tingling, numbness or weakness in the legs (inflammation of a membrane that surrounds the spinal cord)

COMMON

n

• Dizziness (low blood pressure)
n• High blood pressure
n•  Nausea or vomiting
n• Pins and needles
n• Slow heartbeat

UNCOMMON

n

• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) or being sensitive to sound
n• Difficulty in speaking
n• Numbness of the tongue or around the mouth
n• Fits (seizures)
n• Sleepiness
n• Shakiness
n• Blurred vision

RARE

• Uneven heart beat (arrhythmias)
n• Double vision
