WHAT ACNICIN GEL IS USED FOR?

It is used to treat acne vulgaris in people 12 years of age and older. Acne vulgaris is a condition in which the skin has blackheads, white heads and pimples
nIt is used to treat mild to moderate acne(spots)
n

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

TALK TO DOCTOR

Talk to your doctor before applying ACNICIN GEL, if you:
nAre allergic to ACNICIN GEL or any of the ingredients of this medicine
nHave other skin problems, including cuts or sunburn
nHave any other skin conditions

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING
n
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
n

CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
n
ACNICIN GEL should not be used by children under the age of 12 years
n
n
DRIVING & USING MACHINES
n
ACNICIN GEL doesn?t have any effect while driving or using machines
n
n
INTERACTIONS:
n
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements especially if you are using:
nTopical medicines that contain sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy or glycolic acid
nUsing or any other topical preparation such as erythromycin metronidazole or aminoglycosides
n
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
n
Always apply this gel exactly as your doctor has told you
nYou should use ACNICIN GEL once a day. Wash as normal, rinse well and pat your skin dry
nApply a small amount of gel in a thin layer to the whole of the area where you usually get the spots
nIt should be used for a maximum of 12 weeks
nYou may need to use more than one tube of ACNICIN GEL during each course of treatment
nTry not to pick or squeeze spots as this can make your acne worse and even lead to scarring
nDo not use ACNICIN GEL in or on your mouth, eyes or vagina
nIt can make your skin sensitive to sun and the light from tanning beds and sunlamps
n
If you use more ACNICIN GEL
nIf you apply too much ACNICIN GEL just wash your treated skin with plenty of water. There may be a chance of increase in skin irritation, contact your doctor or your local hospital
n
nIf you forget to use ACNICIN GEL
n
nUse it as soon as you remember and then continue to use as your doctor has told you. Do not apply a double dose to make up for a forgotten application
n
nIf you stop using ACNICIN GEL
n
nIf you stop applying too soon your infection may come back again or get worse
nDo not stop taking ACNICIN GEL unless your doctor tells you to do so
n
SIDE EFFECTS OF ACNICIN GEL:

Like all medicines, the medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

n• Redness or dryness of the skin
n• Stinging or burning sensation in the skin
n
COMMON

n• Skin peeling
n• Sunburn

nClindamycin:

n• Dry skin
n• Redness of the skin
n• Skin burning
n• Irritation around eyes
n• Worsening of acne
n• Itchy skin

UNCOMMON
n
Like all medicines, the medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
nClindamycin:
n
n• Painful skin
n• Scaly rash
n• Inflammation of the bowel
n• Diarrhea with blood and mucus
n
STORAGE:
n
Protect from excess heat and light
nKeep out of reach of children
nStore at room temperature (15-25°C)
nDo not use this medicine after the expiry date
